Need bigger boot than MINI Countryman plus more than 50mpg

I am three quarters through finance agreement with MINI on a Countryman Cooper D All4, but need more boot space for four small dogs and preferably better than 50mpg. Looking at Skoda Yeti, Roomster, Fabia Estate, Nissan Qashcai, Citroen Cactus or C4 and possibly new Mazda CX3 if boot is bigger than MINI's. Don't mind diesel or petrol if economy is good. Manual gearbox. Not sure which of these represents the best value and would welcome some advice please.

The CX3 has a tiny load area. The forthcoming Honda HR-V has the biggest as well as potentially the most economical diesel engine that should do over 60mpg, because the same 1.6 i-DTEC engine in the Civic Tourer is averaging 68mpg in Real MPG.
