Should I replace my 2002 Audi A4 with an SUV?

I have run a 2002 Audi A4 SE130 TDI from new. It's reliable and cost efficient. However the joints are getting creaky (mine and my wife's, not the car's) and we want something more upright and comfortable with higher seats. Should we go down the SUV path? I've tested a few, but am not yet convinced. We are also considering starting to tow a caravan, so the A4 isn't much good for that either - can you recommend a few vehicles to look at or should I wait for the Q3 next year?

I got 55.1mpg from the new Mitsubushi ASX, which I find fantastic and previously unheard of for an SUV. It has the world's first diesel engine with variable valve timing, so that and "Intelligent Mobility" must be responsible. Test at: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/mitsubishi/mitsubi...x HJ
