CR-V is making a strange noise while reversing

My 2004 Honda CR-V 2.0 auto has been making a strange noise while reversing. I do not know why this has been happening. Also when you brake there is a metallic grinding noise from the left wheel. Any ideas?

You've probably got some water in the rear diff. It's a common CR-V problem. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/honda/cr-v-2002/?sec.../
