Which fuel is best for the Mazda MX-5?

Having followed your advice, I this week purchased a 2010 Mazda MX-5 2.0 Sport Tech RC six-speed, which I am very happy with. The manual states to run it on premium unleaded - is there a particular fuel I should look for?

Secondly, I have a dog and don't wish the passenger seat to get ruined (the dog is harnessed in). I ordered a seat cover which does not fit due to the way the seatbelt is anchored to the seat. Do you know of anywhere which sells a suitable cover, bearing in mind it the car has side airbags?

'Premium' unleaded is a misnomer for 95Ron, which the cheapest fuel available in the UK. The engine will run much better, more cleanly and more economically on Shell V-Power Nitro Plus 99Ron Superunleaded simply because that is the fuel all modern engines are optimised for to get through the ECDC calibration tests.

The kind of seatcover you need is specialised. It might make more sense to have a local 'Car Upholsterer and Trimmer' (www.yell.com) make one up for you to the exact spec of the seat.

My Mazda 5 1.6 diesel has started to cut out. The car does a 30-40 mile journey once a week and longer ones once a month. I also use Shell V-Power once a month (there's no garage near), so I would hope...
