Why is half of my heated windscreen not working?

We have had our first hard frost this morning, but the heated windscreen in our Ford Focus only defrosted one side. Is this a fault?

If it has a Quickclear screen then either the connection or the elements have broken. If it is merely cleared by a blower, then the trunking to the side that did not clear must have dropped off.
