buying nearly new Audi Q5 versus new Q5 from broker

Honest John lists a car broker offering the Audi Q5 3.0 TDI Quattro S Line Plus 5dr S Tronic with the extras I want at around 42K. The same nearly model with similar extras registered in April 2014 is on sale at an audi dealer for a bit more than 42K. I have never bought from a car broker before but the website says the price listed is the price I will pay from an Audi dealer. So this seems to mean I can buy a brand new car, with exactly the specs I want, for about the same price as a used, six-month old car. I assume the Audi dealer selling his six month's old car knows how to price his product for the market, so am I missing something in thinking I can get a new car for about the same cost as one six month's old? Thank you.

Well, it depends on the broker. If this is www.drivethedeal.com, it obtains the discounts by channeling large numbers of orders through single dealers which earn the dealers volume discounts and bonuses enabling the equivalent of a fleet discount to be passed on to you. What you need to be careful of is that you are not getting the car on a fleet deal that means the car will have to be registered to a fleet for 6 months or so before it can be registered in your name. This can be dodgy.
