Looking for a replacement for my Peugeot 406 Coupe

I'm looking for a car to replace my 2002 Peugeot 406 Coupe diesel. I love the car for its looks and fuel economy, with a smooth rude and 50+mpg. I also like that, whilst being a coupe, it's also practical and I can seat four adults.

Current favourites to replace it are BMW 320d (or should I go 330d?), but I don't like that it's such a "common" sight on the roads. I’m also considering Volvo S60 or the previous Mercedes-Benz C220 diesel. What do you recommend?

One of the best Pininfarina Peugeots. The ugly 407 coupe was actually a better drive and astonishingly quiet with virtually no wind or tyre roar even on 18-inch tyres. But now you're right: E92 320d coupe. I averaged 63mpg over 8000 miles in an F30 320dED, so 60+mpg is definitely available.

The S60 can only be the 2.0 181PS DriveE diesel, in which I did 6500 miles at an average of 58.65mpg on V-Power, but it was getting better. The other contender is a Mazda6 Skyactiv D. Mine was an auto, so only 49mpg over 14,000 miles, but the manual gets close to 60 and it's a better drive than the Volvo. Long term reports on all three at: www.honestjohn.co.uk/our-cars/

Nimble and agile handling. Spacious cabin is very well made. Huge improvements to refinement and steering from October 2016.
