Should I buy a Mondeo with lowered suspension?

Does the Mk3 Ford Mondeo come with factory lowered suspension? I am thinking of buying one and the seller says it was lowered at the factory, which wont affect my insurance. Is this true?

The Zetec sits very slightly lower on slightly bigger alloy wheels with lower profile tyres than standard models.
