Should I test drive the Citroen C3 automatic before buying one as a Motability vehicle?

I am in the process of buying a Motability car, and I can only drive automatics as I only passed in an automatic. I drive an automatic Fiat Punto at the moment. My cousin has the Citroen C3 and I really like this car. However, all the dealers I have been to say they can't get an automatic for me to drive and I will have to order this without driving it. Is this a wise thing to do?

They are saying an automatic is an automatic. However, I just want to put this car into auto and do nothing and not worry about anything. There are not many cars at the moment that are just the plain automatics and I don't want an electronic or semi auto. Can you recommend this car or do you know of any faults with the automatic gearbox?

We don't know of any faults with this car's automatic gearbox but we would never advise buying a car without driving the one that you're thinking about buying, as personal opinion on a car is exactly that - personal. Speak to Citroen again and ask them to get hold of a car for you, or tell them you'll go elsewhere to look for a car. The Hyundai 1.4-litre is available with a normal automatic and is a very good car that's good value for money too. I'm sure you'll find Hyundai dealers helpful - they are usually excellent.

I would like some advice on which Motability car to choose. It must be an automatic (I have owned Suzuki autos for 20 years) and the gearbox must be a conventional TC rather than a jerky alternative.
