Buying a first car - Fiat Panda or Peugeot 107?

I am looking for a group 1 insurance car for my daughter who has passed her test. I have seen two models she likes at a local garage: one is a Fiat Panda 1.0 eco model, 2010 with 64,000 miles and the other is a 2008 Peugeot 107, one owner with about the same mileage. Which would you say is the better car?

The 107 is chain cam; the Panda is belt. Look up what goes wrong with all of them in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar Avoid K12 Micras.
