Does the Nissan Qashqai suffer with DPF problems?

We have a Nissan Qashquai 2.0 petrol auto which is nearly four years old and is due to be replaced. We love the comfort of the car and would have replaced it with the same model; however, the only auto choice currently available is the 1.6 diesel (1.6 petrol looks to be months away).

We do about 12,000 miles per annum with 99% of journeys being 10 miles or over and would ask whether this would be sufficient to keep the DPF filter clear? also, we run our existing petrol model mainly on Shell V-Power, so should we also benefit by running a diesel model on V-Power diesel fuel.

Probably will because the Renault 1,6DCI engine fitted to the Qashqai has numerous features that should keep the DPF clear, such as low compression ration and heat retention technology including exhaust manifold in head and close coupled DPF. These engines have been out and about in the Renault Scenic for four years now with no sign of any DPF problems.
