Will my car be written off?

I own a 2006 Peugeot 307 CC. recently, someone drove into the side of my car and it has started making a loud noise. I contacted my insurer – who had the car inspected by a garage – and I have been told the damage is 'repairable' but the quote has come in at £2629 - this is just for bodywork and does not include the mechanical repairs that must be needed.

This is my first experience and I am unsure of the process. The trade value of my car looks to be around £1800-£2000 - will my car be written off?

I think the car will be written off anyway. If it isn't, complain to the insurer that there is also mechanical damage that has not been quoted for by the repairer.
