Buying a used saloon - Honda Accord or Peugeot 508?

I am looking to spend £10,000 on a comfortable reliable saloon. I don't fancy the rear-wheel drive of a BMW and am considering a 2009 Honda Accord (petrol or diesel) or a 2012 Peugeot 508 diesel. I drive 8000 miles per year and would probably look to keep the vehicle three years. Which car would you buy?

The nicest 508 is the 1.6THP 156. For 8k miles a year you don't need a diesel and don;t want DPF problems.

Crikey. Ford is quoting 6-8 months for a new Mondeo. At least, according to the second dealer I spoke to. The first was staggeringly rude. A Mazda 6 Tourer 2.0 petrol engine looks similarly good. Any advice...
I'm thinking of buying a Mazda 6 Tourer, but the auto version that I want is only available with a diesel engine and 19-inch wheels. Have the DPF problems been sorted and is the ride ok on these wheels?
Last year we bought my daughter and family a rather long-in-the-tooth Mazda 5 diesel that had done 69,000 miles. I admit it was a pig in a poke and is costing a lot in repairs, the latest being a new DPF...
