Does the 2009 Vauxhall Astra have better handling than the 2004 Focus?

Does the new Astra (2009 model) have better handling than the 6-year-old Focus? I mean handling, not ride quality or comfort, just which is better for fast driving in bends. Also, why do you say on your website MkIII Focus for just a facelifted 2004 model? The true MkIII Focus will be available next year.

Depends on wheel and tyre combinations, but there is not much in it.

The MkII Mondeo was no more of a facelift of the MkI than what we call the MkIII Focus was of the MkII. That's our reason. It's also the reason why we call the current Volkswagen Transporter the T6 rather than the T5 Mk II or T5b. In our terms the next Focus will be the Mk IV.
