Best wheels and tyres for BMw 535d?

What are the right rim size and wheels to buy for my BMW 535d E60 for summer? I want to improve the ride and comfort.

I don't think you can go below 18-inch wheels with this car, partly in order to clear the front brakes, and partly because of the amount of power. Lesser E60s can take 16-inch with 205/60 R16s.
