Peugeot 206 or Honda Civic - which is most reliable?

I have a budget of about £2000 and need a small automatic. I have seen a couple of Peugeot 206s for sale: a 2005 1.4 at £2595, (61,000 miles) and a2006 1.4 at £2795 (35,600 miles). I’ve also seen a 2000 Honda Civic 1.6 in very good condition, one owner, 59,000 miles at £1,100. Which is more reliable?

My advice is do not pay more than £600 for a used Peugeot 206. They are fairly badly built and often troublesome. And £2795 is a fair price for the much better 207, not a 206. The Honda is well past its sell by date.
