Should I get Supagard paint protection with my new BMW X3?

I have been a customer of BMW garage for approximately 35 years, purchasing in the main 1 to 3-year-old cars. I have now decided to buy a new model X3 and would like your advice on the following. On the order they are showing a charge of £474 for Supaguard paint protection. I feel that this is not necessary on a new car. Do you agree? And what are your thoughts on this?

It is a good idea, but £474 isn't. It should be no more than £200. They only pay about £60 for the kit, plus some work experience guy to apply it, then pocket the rest as profit.
