Our used Corsa has turned out to be an ex-rental - could this be a problem?

We bought a year old Corsa from a Vauxhall dealer. My wife and I were in the showroom when I asked the salesman (a modern, very pushy one): “who was the first owner of this vehicle?” We accepted the answer, “oh it was Vauxhall's own car”. We assumed that Vauxhall employed many staff entitled to a car. A week later the registration document arrived, it said the car’s the first registered keeper had been Hertz Hire Company. What are my rights?

No rights. Vauxhall owned the car and either loaned or leased it to the daily rental company. This is the case with 90 per cent of all cars re-sold at less than a year old. Because of the penalties now imposed on hirers, rental cars don’t get wrecked these days and, after a variety of different drivers, are usually better run in than privately owned cars.
