Is the Hyundai i40 inferior to the Land Rover Freelander 2?

I have on order a Hyundai i40 Tourer BlueDrive 1.7 CRDi 136PS with manual gearbox. I am part-exchanging a Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4 XS. I have been on the lookout for this type of Hyundai on the road but I have only seen one in my area. In your opinion am I making the right decision or am I downsizing as the Hyundai is viewed by some as being an inferior car?

So far, Hyundai has sold 650,000 cars in the UK and its sister company KIA has sold 500,000. Together they are the fourth biggest car manufacturer in the world. In no way are their cars inferior. The i40 has distinctive inverted ‘V’ LED DRLs. Easy to spot once you look for that feature.
