Is the new Volkswagen Golf DSG gearbox reliable?

I have a 2006 Volkswagen Golf with an auto gearbox. I was planning on updating this to a new Golf with the DSG gearbox. However, I have heard that there have been a number of problems with these gearboxes. Is it best to avoid the DSG?

There have been problems and problems are more likely than with a torque converter automatic, but this is not an epidemic. I would like to see VAG warrant its DSGs for five years and give buyers more confidence in them, as it has already done in Russia and China. The new Golf VII 2.0TDI has the more robust 6-speed wet clutch DSG.
