Is the Toyota RAV4 Sport likely to be reintroduced, and if not what is a good substitute?

I am mightily grateful to Toyota for saving me tens of thousands of pounds by discontinuing the 3-door Sport version of the RAV4 some years ago. My family (and I suspect, many others) are so attached to these cars that we just keep running the ones we have. We would have bought several new ones but Toyota obviously does not want our custom. Are they likely to re-introduce the 3-door RAV4 and if not what would be the nearest equivalent from another manufacturer?

The Urban Cruiser filled this hole, but never succeeded on the UK market because the Yen/Sterling rate made it too expensive. Now that the Yen is 30 per cent down Toyota is planning a new sub RAV4 SUV, along with almost every other manufacturer including Renault, Peugeot, Vauxhall/Opel, Ford and Honda. Meanwhile, there's the SWB Suzuki Grand Vitara 3-door that looks remarkably like the RAV4 3-door.
