Which runabout car can deal with a long offroad driveway?

Our half mile dirt road drive (with various sizes of potholes) has finally got the better of our Ford Ka, which we use as a second car for commuting to the local railway station and as a general runabout. We are looking to replace it with something that can deal with the drive and also manage the odd motorway journey. We can spend up to £8000. Any suggestions?

A high riding Dacia Sandero Stepway would make a lot of sense: honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/dacia/sandero-stepway-2013/ RHD UK stocks are just about to start arriving.
