Our local council is spending money on traffic signs but not repairing potholes - how can I object?

Hertfordshire County Council is spending or has spent over £200,000 on digital traffic information signs. One of these, in Stevenage, obstructs the view of a driver emerging from his property. Meanwhile there are potholes and ruts in North Herts roads where only the most crude and rudimentary repairs, if any, are being made. Outsourcing this work to a private company has not improved matters. And of course, there is no hope of getting road humps removed. Some of these in Hitchin are badly damaged with deep grooves in the top surface. The council's attitude to justifiable criticism is complete cognitive dissonance.

If it’s diesel, they’ll probably ban your Land Rover, just as TfL did within the LEZ. You and a number of other citizens need to get together and hire a private investigator to find out how this nonsense is being funded, who gets what, and if the council taxpayers are actually getting value for money. My father was actually the victim of having his difficult driveway exit obscured by parking bays, making it impossible to make a safe exit.
