Why hasn't Audi installed 7-digit satnav systems into their cars?

Having read numerous tales of woe regarding the performance of the Audi satnav system, I wondered if you have any further information. I'm not looking to purchase a BMW, as I prefer the Audi A4. So if BMW can manage to install the 7-digit software, why can Audi not do the same? There have been thousands of negative comments about the lack of updates by Audi, so it is amazing that this has not been resolved. Any ideas of where I might look at next?

The problem is the additional precision of a 7-digit postcode compared to a 4 or 5-digit postcode. Fixing this is not simply an updating of the software. Both the mapping and the interpretation software need to be upgraded and some satnav is not capable of this type of upgrade. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that BMW has finally upgraded its Panoramic Professional satnav systems to take 7-digit codes. But then in the F30 320d they have solved every problem with the older E90. And 64mpg over 6000 miles from a car capable of 0-60 in 7.8 and a top speed of 140mph can't really be argued with. The F30 is the closest you can get to a perfect car.
