How do I renew my driving licence and ensure I keep my trailer entitlement?

I shall reach 70 next July 2013 and therefore will need to renew my licence. My present paper licence has many categories, most of which I do not use, but I am keen to continue using the small trailer entitlement. I am aware of the current rules of the relevant category, but am confused by the terminology of the new requirements. Will I have to take a light trailer test to reactivate my present licence? If you have previously covered this, I would be grateful for a pointer to the right part of your website, or, if not, can you elucidate, please?
