Best used car for longevity?

I always put galactic mileages on my cars and intend to keep my next Volvo for a decade or more. The only alternatives on the list are the post-2010 five-cylinder 2.0 version of the Volvo C70 and the Mercedes CLK 200 - in each case, a five or six year old model for around £13,000.

Ignoring other factors in the equation, do you have any views as to likely longevity?

The record of 3,000,000 miles is held by a Volvo P1800 owned by Irv Gordon, but that was an old pushrod, chain cam 1.8. I don't see a Volvo 5-cylinder belt cam diesel doing the distance. Maybe a chain cam 2.1 litre Mercedes-Benz 200CDI?
