Can I fit 16-inch wheels to my Skoda Octavia VRS?

I have Skoda Octavia TDI VRS currently on aluminium wheels with 225/40/18 summer tyres. Would steel wheels with 205/55/16 winter tyres be a good combination for winter motoring?

I don't know if 16-inch wheels will fit around the front brakes of an Octavia VRS - I'm pretty sure it won't work. And I think the car is too powerful to go down to this wheel and tyre size. I'd suggest speaking to your local dealer or a tyre specialist.
