What's a nice looking car for £2000?

I'm looking for a nice looking car for around the £2000 mark? Any ideas of what's a good buy and what to look out for in terms of mileage, etc?

If you're after looks then for £2000 you can get an Alfa Romeo 156. However a word of caution as these have a poor reputation for reliability, so a low mileage, well-cared-for example is the only type worth considering. These are available for this money though. For something more sporty there's the Fiat Coupe, but again, reliability can be an issue with these, but we've seen models in the classifieds with only 55,000 miles for £2000. There are also some good 50,000-60,000 mile Ford Pumas on the market at the moment. The 1.7-litre is the one to go for and these have a decent reliability record. Others to consider are the Hyundai Coupe (we've seen a very tidy 2000-year model with 65,000 miles for £1995) or the Mazda MX-5, although for £2000 these tend to be older with higher mileages.
