Are these solicitors encouraging me to claim dishonestly?

Last summer a lorry collided with me, changing lanes without looking. My car was declared a write-off and, being comprehensively insured, my insurance company paid out promptly. Since then I have been plagued with phone calls from solicitors firms telling me that there is £3000 of compensation awaiting if I just claim that I suffered aches and pains as a result of the accident, requiring painkillers. How did they get my details and is there any downside in letting them process a claim on my behalf?

They are inciting you to defraud an insurer. The government has made mutterings against it but the CPS takes no action against this sort of crime, which is why it is allowed to continue unimpeded. When asked if he wanted to make a claim another reader told them yes, and then demanded compensation for the plague of canvassing phone calls.
