How does the quality of a SEAT compare to the quality of a Volkswagen?

Can you advise how the quality of a SEAT compares with the equivalent Volkswagen? Is there really a significant difference in the build and finish to justify the price premium, or is it all just marketing hype?

Put it this way, Audi has SEAT build its new Q3 at SEAT's factory in Martorell. In my opinion, SEAT quality has been better than Volkswagen's since around 2000 when the Leon was launched. But some economies are made, like no base covers for the folding rear seat squabs in the Ibiza ST, which Hyundai and KIA always fit.
