How should I best store my wheels with summer tyres whilst I fit my winter tyres?

The Arnold Clark group has offered me four 185/60/15T Continental WinterContact TS 800 winter tyres for £299 (the standard package offer as per its website) and says it can provide a set of four original Clio steel wheels with 17mm bolts for another £100, total £399. I realise I can internet-source the tyres for about £50 less, but finding separate wheels is, I'm amazed to find out, rather a problem. I'd appreciate your advice on the above offer and where I can find the best advice for storage of summer wheels and tyres - on their sides or upright, turning every few weeks etc.

That's a good deal, especially since the latest Continental Wintercontact TS830s have been doing very well in recent winter tyre tests (www.tyrereviews.co.uk). Obviously, clean the summer wheels first, then store the wheels and tyres well off the ground on their sides in the dark. I used to build a shelf over the garage door for them.
