Replacing a Prius - what with?

My Prius will be 5 years old in May (55,000 miles).
I am very keen on low emissions and enjoy an auto gearbox. I am thinking of changing it this year.

I would be grateful if you could advise current options, similar car, any make. Are there any new models in development within next 12 months worth waiting for?
