Ford focus fuel pump failure... at three years

I own a (July) 2009 Ford Focus 1.6-litre petrol, which has covered 30,000 miles. During Christmas, the fuel pump failed and I was left with a bill of £400. Surely a fuel pump should last more than three years of 30,000 - is it worth contacting Ford customer services as the car was just five months out of warranty.

Yes. Do you mean the fuel tank lifter pump or the main fuel injector pump? Get that clear before applying for good will.
