My two BMW's with 19-inch alloys have experienced cracks on four of the wheels. This is a common problem which BMW continue to contest responsibility. The cracks are normally formed on the inside of the wheel out of the sight of the owner.

I suspect that many owners are driving their powerful cars unaware of the risk they are taking. BMW have now redesigned the wheel in an attempt to overcome this significant problem. Is their an organisation who can use statutory muscle to force BMW to replace the old design wheels?

I have lost confidence with BMW who maybe risking owners lives rather than admit a design failure and take financial responsibility for the essential replacement. Toyota has pride in their product and this results in recalls even where the failure incidence is low.
