Kia Venga: Stop start not stop starting...

My wife owns a 2011 Kia Venga, which has been back to the garage three times, as the ISG stop-start isn't working properly. The garage keeps giving her what appear silly reasons - the first was not enough petrol in the tank? Now they're saying it's because she had the air conditioning on? Then, it's because she's not driven it for a couple of days...

Is it because she's a lady or are these valid reasons?

It's probably because she is not driving the car far enough to fully charge the battery.
