Buying a recent used automatic

I need a 2-3yr old small automatic to replace my trusty old X reg Micra. Can spend up to £6500. You have mentioned a jerky ride with some of the auto gearboxes - I am 78 and don't want to have to relearn footwork. What do you recommend?

Try to find a Hyundai i10 1.2 automatic, a Suzuki Splash 1.2 automatic, a Vauxhall Agila 1.2 automatic or, a bit bigger, a Nissan Note automatic. £6,500 confines you to the original shape Honda Jazz 1.4iCVT-7, 2008 or older.
