A reliable small auto?

Due to budget restrctions I am looking for a cheap to buy (say £4000) cheap to run automatic, which will be driven about 800 miles a week, possibly more, mostly on motorways. Because of high mileage it has to be reasonably fuel efficient and preferably under 1450 cc for car tax reasons. I am thinking of something like a Honda Jazz / Fit CVT-7 or something similar but am open to suggestions and recommendations?

(I live in Cyprus with a daughter with SEN and we need to do the mileage to get her to the only school able to deal with her and to therapies. Out here at that price I am looking at say a 2003 Fit/Jazz, Mitsubishi Colt, Nissan March(Micra) or Toyota Yaris)
