any recourse on private used car sales

Hi, I recently bought a Citroen Saxo 1.1 2002 for my daughter as a first car. I bought it from a girl I work with, this was a private sale. We were starting the car every 2 weeks as she has not passed her test yet. Two weeks ago I went to start it and the engine wouldnt turn over, I called the RAC, and the engine had seized. I confronted the girl who sold it and her response was to say that we should've been starting it every day, which tells me she knew something was wrong with it, but I also know this will be hard to prove. Do I have any legal recourse in this instance?

None whatsoever. Could well be that what you have been doing filled the engine with raw fuel that took the oil off the cylinder bores and directly led to it seizing.
