Catalytic converters failure - any advice?

My Jaguar XJ sovereign 2006 TDVI auto has done 54000 miles and both the flexi hoses failed.

The dealer said that you have to get new converters as changing flexi hose is not possible, which is rather an expensive job. Is it normal for these hoses to fail about 54000 miles and surely it must be a design fault that the flexi hose cannot be replaced.

It must be something going for me at the moment as my BLUETOOTH module has failed and wondered it you have any suggestions as to where to go for a reasonably priced replacement?

I can't tell you who can fix the OEM Bluetooth. Probably cheaper to replace it with a separate aftermarket system like a Parrot. Will note the flexi hose problem in car by car.
