Honda Jazz tyre cracking. I have a theory...

In your Honda Jazz review http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/honda/jazz-2008/ you mentioned "Cracking between the treads of Dunlop tyres fitted to 2009 Jazz has now reached almost epidemic proportions."

This is a problem that I have experienced myself... and I have a theory about what causes it!

Obviously these 2009 cars are now coming to the age of their first MoT and owners become aware of this issue. However the problem started way back... In the early winter months of 2009 Honda shut down the Swindon plant due to poor sales. This resulted to lots of new cars being stored outdoor in cold weather over several months. This is the number 1 cause for weather cracks!

If this turns out to be true (I am trying to find if the production of my car too place prior to the factory closure) these tyres had been mishandled by Honda themselves and they should provide replacements. My wife's Jazz has clocked just 8200 miles and now needs new tyres. Not acceptable!

The Jazz was not built at Swindon until October 2009. Previous Jazz were imported from China and Japan and were in short supply. No need to store them at Swindon.
