Meriva or C3 on Motability?

I'm due to get new Motability car in August. I chose a Citroen C3 Picasso or a Vauxhall Meriva - both auto - both disel. You have rated both quite highly.

I'm disabled (no wheel-chair) with access limitations. Which is best and in each case which is the best engine?

The C3 Picasso 'auto' has an EGC, which is an automated manual, not an automatic. So make sure you can get on with one of these before committing. The Meriva has a 6 speed torque converter auto. On a 3 year Motability contract, DPF problems from short run use are not your worry.

I would like some advice on which Motability car to choose. It must be an automatic (I have owned Suzuki autos for 20 years) and the gearbox must be a conventional TC rather than a jerky alternative.
