Problem of dashboard reflecting in windscreen

For many years I have driven various Ford models; Orion, Focus, Mondeo and at the moment have a Focus Cabriolet. Over the years the streamlining has meant that the windscreens have become more raked back so that the top of the dashboard reflects very clearly in the windscreen when the sun shines and it is a real problem in certain levels of sunlight. I have a piece of black fabric which solves the problem beautifully but it slides around very and nothing will stick to the surface. I’ve tried everything I can think of and our local Ford garage even gave me some of the sticky pads that hold rear view mirrors on to the windscreen and even they don’t work. Do you have any bright ideas? Is there anything known to man that will stick on the surface of a Ford dashboard?
I am not aware of ever having heard anyone else complain of this but I find it hard to believe that I’m the only person to find this a problem.

A company tried to market dashtop covers, called 'Dashmats', but could not make a living out of it. Black felt and Velcro strips seem to be the answer, but be careful not to block the airvents that themselves can reflect badly in screens.
