Jeep Cherokee missed recall

I own a 2004 Jeep Cherokee 2.5 turbo diesel. Recently the engine siezed due to a remote engine oil filter hose separating, causing loss of engine oil.

I have since discovered that a recall was issued in 2005 for this as a manufacturing fault (code E11).

Jeep has inspected my vehicle and confirmed that this is the cause of my engine damage. They have confirmed that no recall notices were ever sent and that because the vehicle is no longer under warranty then they are not liable for repair.

They also state, because the dealership has now closed down where the vehicle was originally purchased, that no investigation can be made.

Are Jeep liable for the damage to my vehicle?

No. Had the vehicle regularly been taken to a Jeep dealer then the TSB work would have been carried out. Because it wasn't the work was not carried out. Simple as that.
