What do you think of the Peugeot 1007 Sport automatic?

I spotted a 2006 Peugeot 1007 1.6 Sport automatic with 15,000 miles at a local dealer's for £2,500. I'm attracted to its electric sliding doors and internal versatility with sliding rear seats, and we favour automatics, given the topography of South Yorkshire and the necessity for frequent hill-starts. My concerns are for the reliability of Peugeot's '2-Tronic' transmission that I gather is fitted to the 1007 (my daughter has a Peugeot 206 automatic which failed to change into top gear, a common fault apparently, and the gearbox and engine management had to be 're-programmed' by a local Peugeot specialist; hence my concerns about the '2-Tronic' set-up). Also, do you have any feedback on the reliability of the electric sliding doors, and is this a good buy at £2,500?

Be concerned. Be very concerned. Not only over the car's automated manual transmission, but also over the door shuts. The car is a heap of junk that should never, ever have been made, but was made because of a favourable reaction at motor shows which itself illustrates the folly of basing decisions on simply asking people's opinions. When researched, people rarely tell the truth. A good researcher will cross-examine them to find out if they really would buy such a car.
