Would you recommend a Vauxhall Zafira automatic for a childminder?

I'm looking at getting a Zafira as I'm a childminder and we need the extra seats. However I'd quite like an automatic but apparently they only come in 1.9 diesel, 2.2 petrol or 1.8 Easytronic. I don't fancy the Easytronic and have concerns about the cost of taxing/insuring a 2.2 and its fuel economy. Can you advise if the 1.9 diesel is worth the slightly extra cost and if it sounds appropriate to my needs? I think I drive around 8,000 - 10,000 miles per year. Or should I just get the 1.6 manual?

The 1.9 CDTI 120 with 6-speed auto drives beautifully, but so many problems develop with this engine that I don't advise it. The Peugeot 308 SW comes with four Isofix tethered seats: front passenger and all three in the centre row. They are also wider than in the Zafira and you can buy compact, custom built sixth and seventh seats for the loadspace.
