Overstay in retail park

Parked in a local retail park for 2hours 43 minutes.

I went to purchase curtains and after making a selection went to place the order. The assistant was on break and I was asked to return later, so went to the in-store cafe and then returned and spent £460.00 on curtains.

At no point did I leave the store - delay was entirely due to time taken waiting to see the assistant and then going through a very detailed order (this was for a 16 foot bay window!)

I have now received a fine of £70, reduced to £50 if paid by 26/12/11.

The irony of all of this is that the store called a week later to say the fabric was no longer being manufactured and we could now cancel and get a full refund of our 50% deposit!
