Best second-hand coupé cabrio or convertible

My wife is set on buying a convertible as a second car, probably a coupé cabrio for security reasons (when we had car with a soft electric sunroof it was slashed twice). The car will be used for a combination of short everyday trips plus occasional longer (including continental) journeys by two adults plus luggage. It will have to be second-hand and we can afford up to £9,000. Obviously reliability of the folding roof is an issue, but so are overall running costs. What do you recommend, please?

Strangely, the Renault Megane CC comes out quite well in this respect, and is certainly the best looking. But if you can get a Peugeot 207CC 1.6 THP 150, that would be good fun. You'll find all the quirks at www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/

I would like to buy a second hand four-seat automatic with a hard top folding roof. I'd like heated seats. My budget price is around £15,000 and I do about 6000 miles a year.
