Why does the steering keep going vague on my car?
Several times during even a medium distance journey my steering goes vague and lacks fell and the skidding car light comes on. I am sometimes not cornering and never going that fast. Any idea why? Car is 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid

If you are having steering issues and the traction control or electronic stability control (ESC) light is coming on, even when travelling in a straight line, this could be an electronic fault rather than a mechanical one. ESC systems rely on data from several components including individual wheel speed, steering angle as well as throttle and brake position to understand what the vehicle is doing. If any of this information is incorrect or not delivered it can cause the ESC to activate when not required. We would return the vehicle to your dealer or find an independent Hyundai specialist for a diagnostic check, which will show up any fault codes and will hopefully point to where the fault has occurred.
