Is it possible to jack up a MINI Aceman at home?

We have recently taken delivery of a MINI Aceman SE and are very pleased with it. We were looking into getting a space saver spare wheel and jack but the handbook says special equipment is required and a normal jack must not be used. Is this correct? What are the options for a tyre which unseats from the rim like all our previous tyre failures

All vehicles have jacking points, but some are designed in such a way that they are not usable without a specific jack or associated tools. Spare wheel retailer The Wheel Shop do not currently offer a spare wheel and toolkit for the Aceman, but do offer one for the physically similar Countryman which may be compatible, but we would suggest contacting them directly first. In the event that a correct wheel and jack are not available the only option would be to ensure you have sufficient breakdown cover to assist in the event of a puncture or tyre failure.
