Is it safe to jump-start a hybrid car?
Is it safe to jump-start a hybrid car? My CR-V battery is 7 years old and, although not yet a problem, I wonder if I should keep a set of jump-start leads in the car in case the battery fails without warning.

Yes it is safe to jump start a hybrid car, but as always we would recommend following the manufacturer's guidance for the jump start procedure and to not do so if the guidance prohibits jump starting. The process for jump starting a hybrid is the same as with a conventional petrol or diesel vehicle as it is the 12V battery that requires some help rather than the more powerful drive battery. 12V batteries can last a long time, but if you have concerns we would suggest having it tested or testing it yourself and replacing if necessary.
